Years ago some of us carried a small "Smoke Bomb" picked up at Forestry Supply. They were cheap and easy to attach to glider. Had a short pull string. You will be seen. Used for landing out read of wind direction. Ones that don't start fires maybe better choice.

On the 4th of July weekend, I went Kroegers to get vitamins,
And next to the vitamins was a large rack of fireworks assortment. One of the supplies was smoke grenades and immediately thought this would be worth the try for XC landings. Figured I would test it on my lawn first and turned out I fried a 10" inch round patch of perfect lawn. Id be interested in knowing what was used and safe? EP

TTT had the same burn problem so developed a two-tone streemer with two penny weight. End of fires and still got wind direction.

My idea was to attach to glider keel out of way of sail. Excuse me.
